Store manager accused of 18k jewelry theft

The former manager of Kay Jewelry is facing felony theft charges after reportedly stealing $18,000 from the store. 

According to an arrest affidavit for Katrina Garrett, 35, Westminster Avenue, the Monroe Police Department started an investigation into the theft on Thursday.

The investigation revealed that the store manager, Garrett, took numerous pieces of jewelry from the store without paying. 

An arrest affidavit for Garrett states the items were pawned at various pawn shops in the Monroe area. 

During questioning, Garrett reportedly confessed to the crime. 

She was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center on the felony theft charges Friday afternoon. Bond was set at $30,000.
