January 30x30 outfit 14 khaki green dress

This is outfit 14 of my January 30x30 challenge, it is yesterday's outfit. No 1 - a khaki green midi dress with a yellow classic patterned scarf, black tall boots, black crossbody bag and large cut glass earrings. The earrings are shown in No 2.

Honestly, this outfit was a quick fix as I had no ideas what to wear (and not repeating items from previous challenge outfits) and I was in a hurry.

Today, I was wearing my black peplum suit (this time with trousers), jacket already posted - outfit 12, with a black silk blouse and another scarf and brooch, I did not have the time to try to put together a new combo without repeating items. I have realized that I will have to take the challenge I little bit slower, but my ambition still is to put together 30 outfits from my existing closet with as little repeating items as possible (footwear and bags are ok to repeat and outerwear is not included in the challenge).

Grateful for honest feedback on the khaki green dress outfit, ideas and comments.

That is a cool dress! It looks super with the yellow. I bet it would look cool with a wide black belt, and you could probably also wear it open as a topper. How does it look with the sleeves rolled up? That's always my first instinct with shirt-sleeves.

Thanks La Ped and thanks for the ideas. I use the dress open as a topper as well. It is very practical. Good idea to pull up the sleeves and to use a wide black belt!

I have so enjoyed seeing your stylings. In fact, I have been in awe. This ensemble is simpler but no less amazing than any of the others. In fact the simplicity of it in contrast to some of the others shows depth and range. I commend you.

It looks good. The scarf really takes it up a notch. I literally can’t think of any improvements, other than playing with different scarves and earrings. A pink scarf might be interesting with the olive.

What is not to love, here? The colors, fit, proportions all look perfect to me. I do like LaPed’s suggestion of a big, wide belt and sleeves rolled up. It would be a more casual look, but I predict still quite striking.

I echo the other posters — this is excellent, I see nothing that needs to be “improved” but I do like the ideas others have shared for other possible ways to style it. What a beautiful and practical dress!

The cross body bag is absolutely perfect with this dress - it falls just right, is just the right size and adds a lot of texture and interest.I also like the dress in itself and the yellow scarf works beautifully.

I really like this. I think the yellow scarf really lifts the khaki. Interesting to me because I love olive green but can find it a little drab. I usually add white to give it a lift. Now I am thinking about how I could add yellow instead...
