My husband and I are flying home tomorrow after a wonderful three weeks in Europe — Munich, Prague, Vienna, and Budapest. We had an amazing time mostly just exploring with no agenda. Just wandering the streets, discovering sights rather than checking tourist spots off on a list. It’s just how we roll.

Of course, I am coming home with a few goodies. Hubs gave me some fab jewelry for Christmas while we were her, and i already shared pics of the gold and pearl crab ring he got me.

Here are two more items I got for myself. Pics 1-2 are a pair of revived vintage style Robert Laroche sunglasses that I found in a cool little pop up design shop in Vienna and just loved. The bold silver frames are a distinctly different style from my delicate vintage sunglasses I got in Amsterdam, so they are a bit more wearable for everyday. I just need to get them fitted with my prescription at home.

Pics 3-6 show the Alexander McQueen scarf I got. I found this in Vienna too, and was sorely tempted by the blue and white classic skull print scarf (pic 7). But I already have 3 or 4 blue and white scarves and thought I’d go for the more unexpected one — in shades of blue and green with dragonflies and a more subtle skull motif around the border. I’ve already worn it at least half a dozen times just on this trip! In pic 4 you can see it with the dragonfly wing earrings my husband got me. What a coincidence!

I also got a pair of fingerless gloves (that I wore nearly every day) from a local designer in Vienna, and a teal wool soft hat also from a small independent artisan in Vienna. And just yesterday added two long-sleeve tees that were on a good sale at Zadig & Voltaire in Munich. So mostly accessories, which is fine by me.

My husband scored a fab new pair of sunglasses too (my gift to him!). They’re from a shop in Budapest called Tipton eyewear — they make amazing glasses from vinyl cut from record albums. I want my next pair of glasses from there! If I hadn’t just gotten the silver sunglasses in Vienna, I would have been tempted by the Tipton ones.
