WIW: A couple outfits this week

1. Pendleton jacket and jeans, and my Jack O Lantern pin (made by me).

2. What I wore to visit my mother in the SF Bay Area. Is it my country club outfit? I loved that description. NYDJ olive jeans, thrifted jean jacket and white tunic top from Eddie Bauer.

3-6. Pictures from SF MOMA. Lots of fun art there. They have a gorgeous fern wall. SF and Marin were very smoky.

7-11. Fall color trip yesterday in the Sierra yesterday. It was clear, cold and windy. We also went to Tahoe to see the salmon spawning. In the past we've seen bears there.

I really like #1 and am so impressed you made your pin! I like #2 as well, although I wouldn’t call it country club (the clubs around here have strict no denim policies). I would call it s great sporty casual look, however. Love the beautiful fall foliage and art pictures!

Love them both, but 1 is my favorite. The red jacket is great with the top and every time I see that purse, I want to go back and buy it.

How is the smoke in Tahoe and your place? I've been out of town and am about to head home.

Meredith, thank you. I was joking about Country Club. We don't even have any around here, only golf clubs. I try to wear my Jack O Lantern as much as possible. It expires on the 31st.

Karen, thanks. The Pendleton jacket is actually pumpkin colored. I drove down to SF on Wednesday. Donner Lake looked liked it was choking. The summit and down the hill were very smoky. Coming back on Friday, it was clear up at the summit, and Donner Lake looked great. Yesterday Tahoe was clear. We went to Taylor Creek where the salmon spawn. I've never seen it so packed. They ran out of parking. I think a lot of people came up to escape the smoke.

You nailed bay area casual. Looks like something I might wear! I especially like the olive and denim combo--it's a personal fave! I forget about going to SF for pleasure. (My occasional work commute to the city makes me want to never go there unless I have to.) I'll just enjoy the art vicariously for now! Looking fab!

Kelly, thank you. I can understand not wanting to go into SF. The traffic is something else. Somehow, miraculously, I was able to cut across three lanes of traffic to get into a parking garage near the museum. I hadn't been to this museum in several years. There really is a sense of fun in most of the art. I meant to post this David Hockney picture for Angie. I'm not sure the dog is a Yorkie, but it looks like one with the coloring. (I always take pictures of dogs in art.)

Angie, thank you. Did you see the picture of the David Hockney painting I posted? Is that a Yorkie? It plays such an important part in the painting.

Our weather keeps flipping back and forth from cold to warm. Our forecast today is 78.

I like both outfits, and thanks for sharing the art. I feel like my throat and lungs have been assaulted, and I'm not right in the fire zone. I can't imagine what it is like even closer.

Barbara, thank you. Where do you live? I drove home last Friday and it was very smoky in Vallejo, but clear in Dixon, where I got gas.

Delurked, thank you. The scenery was beautiful, but the trip was fun, too, because we took our dogs, and they loved saying hi to everyone we met.

What a fun trip, and beautiful fall colors. And your dogs in art theme is too funny--it makes me smile.

Firecracker, thank you. The pin was made with the lost wax casting technique. We had lumps of wax, alcohol lamps and old dental tools to form our objects in wax. Our teacher molded all of our objects together, and poured the hot liquid silver in the mold. Afterwards, we had lots of polishing to do. I enjoyed the class so much I took it four times. Unfortunately, the teacher retired and it isn't offered anymore.
